A compact range of our most wanted Thommen shapes made by our good friends at Sailboards Tarifa. These boards are fully CNC milled and hand built by Sergio and his team in the far south of Spain using the best available materials. Proudly offering the FREEWAVE 106, 4WD 114/121 and the GLEITWUNDER 145/165 which are all made in the rock solid carbon/sandwich construction SBT is known for.
One toy for all waves, all spots, all winds. The FREEWAVE is fairly easy to sail and performs in all conditions. A combination of a fast CROSS-R inspired rocker with a WAVE-R like maneuver oriented outline. The fast rocker delivers excellent planning performance and speed. The moderately short rounded outline with its kink between the straps and its swallow tail underline the board’s desire to shred waves. Our new ‘Medium Thin Rails’ offer sufficient float and superb control and grip in carving turns.
Back to the future, again there’s one board capable to handle all conditions. Like the GWR, Peter went back to the Bullet and Sunset years using a stretched rocker line with a vee-to-quad-to-tri-concave for early planing and combines this with a little tail kick, thinner rails and wingers for control in stronger wind. Depending on the volume it hauls big sails, yet has plenty of control when small sails are needed. Equipped with a Powerbox and 2 Slotboxes one has all the options open for personal set up which makes it also ideal for shallow Holland waters!
Ultra fast planning in the lightest of breezes. Super smooth, yet remarkably quick, responsive and maneuverable! There’s no ‘hump’ to overcome. A specific Thommen golden era stretched rocker line and a vee-to-quad-to-tri-concave bottom shape make for a gradual transition from gliding to planning and iron out chop like nothing else. Yet, unlike other “special light wind” boards, the Gleitwunder is efficient and remains truly fun to sail when the wind picks up. The super thin hull concept, combined with a ‘step rail’ design, is forgiving and promoting easy control for all levels of sailors, from beginner to expert.
